About Thrive

Thrive is a youth-led action group empowering people and communities through health and wellbeing awareness, improving life chances and wider education for young people. Based out of Plymouth, we strive to help our local communities across Devon and Cornwall to grow, and to thrive.

Our work runs across three streams.

We want to help people to feel physically and mentally well. By organising support, activities and information easier to reach, we help people look after themselves, stay connected and build healthier everyday lives. We aim to run a number of events linked to mindfulness, yoga, sport, nutrition and social networking wellbeing sessions that make looking after yourself feel doable rather than preachy.

Where you start shouldn’t limit where you can go. We work to open up opportunities in learning, skills, confidence and work, so that people of all ages and backgrounds can build the future they want. Activites we are looking to build upon are volunteer tutoring, mentoring, skills workshops, webinars & career pathway case studies where sessions build confidence and open routes into study, skills and work.

Strong communities make everything else possible. Thrive brings people together through its activities and programmes, so that Plymouth is a place where people feel they belong. Together, these aims help individuals, families and neighbourhoods across Plymouth to thrive. Activites that we are working towards are picnics, cooking, music, dance workshops and book club that bring generations and cultures together.

Activities are open to all community members but specificlaly young people. You do not need to be a member of Thrive, or of any particular community, to come along.
